In a school it’s easy to feel invisible. In this room, every kid matters — the one who loves to build, the one who loves to code, the one who keeps everybody organized. Nobody gets cut, and everybody has a job.

The whole robotics program with their robots at the banquet

One program, many hands.

Older students pour into younger ones; younger students grow into leaders; and the leaders train the next ones. A senior patiently explains CAD to an eighth grader — every single season.

That’s how a program of six students grew into three teams of twenty-four.

Students in matching Kryptos 4650 hoodies sitting together in the stands

Together, in and out of the pit.

Matching hoodies in the stands, long bus rides, late nights before a competition, and a whole school cheering them on at the send-off to state.

They represent Mayer Lutheran with how they treat other teams, volunteers, and the younger kids who come up asking for help.

“It’s where quiet kids find a seat, curious kids find a puzzle, and kids who are good with their hands find something worth making.”
